This coin was the subject of a detailed analysis by Bendall (2008). It is the only example known with the letter H at the end of one of the rays of the star. The meaning of the H is unknown. Suggestions for the mint of Heraclea are improbable, as certain Thessalonica examples have the mint mark on the other side, beneath the wreath.
